Programs offered by community organizations that specialize in helping people dispose of their personal property, usually on a consignment basis, for a percentage of the proceeds which is then used to support the organization's activities. The program may include transportation of the property to the sales site, appraisal services, pricing, cataloguing, appliance repairs, merchandise display, cashiering and preparation of itemized receipts for tax purposes.
