Vital Records

Virginia birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates are available at all health departments within the Central Virginia Health District.  Only Immediate family members are entitled to a vital record.  Immediate family includes parents, current spouse, adult children, siblings, and grandparents.  Identification is required for all vital record requests. 

There is a $12.00 fee per certified copy of a vital record or for the search of a record when no certificate can be located or printed.  Cash, check, or credit card are all accepted.  Applications can be obtained at your local health department or visit the website to access an application online.
