Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters Transportation

The Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters has a specialized Neonatal/Pediatric Transport Team to provide service to all hospitals in southeastern Virginia. The transport team uses specially designed mobile intensive care unit ambulances and aircraft for the missions. They are available 24/7 and are activated by a physician's request.

Referring physicians only need to call one number for both consultation and transport team activation, 757-668-8000.

If you are covered by Medicaid or Medicaid-related insurance or State and Local Hospitalization (SLH), please provide the admitting department with the patient's identification card to be photocopied. Please make sure to add your newborn to your Medicaid case, to do this, contact your Medicaid caseworker and provide a verification of birth and proof that you have applied for a Social Security card.
