Fresh Start

The Fresh Start Job Readiness program serves adult job seekers with identifiable barriers. Initially tailored as a resource for those with criminal records, the program now accommodates and guide youth towards successful and developing career goals including young adults aging out of the foster care system. The program also works with victims of domestic violence, human trafficking and the homeless. Participants are taught skills in getting and keeping employment and are assisted in finding and keeping employment.

Fresh Start is an accelerated program, which requires the clients to commit to four days including 12 to 20 hours of training before being referred for a job. The program curriculum includes the following topics:

• Completing a job application,
• Interviewing skills,
• Developing a resume, either functional, chronological or a combination type;
• Stress Management and coping skills
• Assistance a strategic plan towards success and
• Budget counseling.
