Who We Are

Chesapeake Health Department participates in the Every Woman's Life program, a public health program sponsored by the Virginia Department of Health that helps uninsured, low-income women gain access to free cervical cancer screening services.  Screening and early detection reduce death rates and improve treatment options.

To be eligible, one must be a Virginia resident between the ages of 40-64, meet federal income guidelines and be uninsured.  Women under 40 may be eligible if certain abnormal medical findings are present or have high risk factors.

Call Every Woman's Life toll-free referral line at 866-EWL-4YOU (866-395-4968) to find your nearest screening location.
