Who We Are

Richmond Behavioral Health Authority;s (RBHA) Detention Center Behavioral Health Services are offered to juveniles while they are being held in Richmond’s Juvenile Detention Center.

If a juvenile shows risk for behavioral health issues while in detention, services are made available to that youth. Individual and Group Counseling are provided by a Behavioral Health Clinician. The juvenile will be linked to services in the community upon their discharge by the Behavioral Health Case Manager. Juveniles in need of psychotropic medication will be evaluated by a psychiatrist while in detention. Juveniles will be monitored for safety and appropriate precautions will be taken in the event of a psychiatric emergency.
