Who We Are
A program of Horizon Behavioral Health, Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment Services provides a continuum of substance abuse treatment services for adolescents and their families. Services may
be offered in multiple locations.
Services include:
- Substance Abuse Assessments are provided for persons age 18 and younger in Planning District II. A comprehensive assessment called the Global Appraisal of Individual Need (GAIN) and drug urine screen are completed on each adolescent and their family referred for a substance abuse assessment.
- Adolescent Substance Abuse Education Groups are provided for adolescents who present with a history of or current experimentation pattern of substance use. T
- Individual Counseling is offered for all levels of service to adolescents and their family members for all levels of service needs when it is determined that a group setting is not the most appropriate treatment milieu for the client.
- Family Counseling is offered to provide family members with education regarding substance abuse and to address family issues and parenting needs.
- Horizon Behavioral Health is one of four organizations in the United States to be chosen to participate in Project Combine, a mentoring and research program that COMBINES evidence based mentoring using the AIM (Aftercare for Indiana through Mentoring) model and the A-CRA (Adolescent Community Reinforcement) model of substance abuse treatment.
- Community Education sessions are available for community organizations who desire to learn more about adolescent substance abuse.
- School-Based Substance Abuse Education Programs are designed and presented based on individual school’s needs and requests with a fee for service.

Crisis emergency services are available 24 hours per day, every day.
Intake Process
Call for a required appointment. Same day assessments for all ages are available Monday through Friday from 8:30AM-3:00PM. Same day assessments at the Bedford center are available on Mondays only.
