Healthy Families and Babycare

The Virginia Department of Public Health works to support the residents of Virginia Beach in their efforts to achieve and maintain optimal levels of health; providing in home and community based culturally sensitive, family centered services.  

These services include a voluntary home visiting program that provides guidance and support to encourage a healthy parent-child interaction and home environment.  The overall goal for Healthy Families is to promote positive, nurturing, responsive parenting; improve child health and   development; promote school readiness; and prevent child abuse and neglect.
