Albemarle County Department of Social Services offers auxiliary grants as a supplement to income for recipients of Supplemental Security Income and other low income aged, blind or disabled individuals residing in licensed assisted living facilities. AG recipients also receive medical assistance through the Medicaid program.
The grants are designed to ensure that recipients are able to maintain a standard of living that meets a basic level of need. These programs pay Homes for Adults to provide shelter, food and some personal care to income-eligible clients.
