Who We Are
Alexandria Department of Community and Human Services offers a Companion Program. This program provides in home assistance for low income adults over the age of 60 or who have severe disabilities that prevent them from performing these tasks independently. Depending on the needs of the individual, companions can assist with light housekeeping, laundry, light meal preparation and grocery shopping.
Call to speak to the on-call worker and to apply. A family specialist will arrange to make a home visit for a detailed assessment.
