Affordable Senior Apartments

Culpepper Garden I and II retirement living are for seniors who want to and are able to live independently but do not want to maintain a home.  Some residents of the retirement community do need assistance with activities of daily living but receive additional care through the county or private services.

Programs are planned to foster independence, ensure dignity and enhance feelings of self-worth and provide housing for low and moderate-income elderly people aged 62 and over. Services include a dining room, money management assistance, a library, a gift shop, a computer lab, and a hair and beauty salon. A bus stop is at the front door and an on-site courtesy phone for taxi service. A free Arlington County van service, Senior Loop, is provided to local grocery stores The residences are within walking distance of shops, markets, churches, and parks.

There are 125 efficiencies, 72 one-bedroom, and 7 two-bedroom apartments in Culpeper Garden I. There are 63 one-bedroom apartments in Culpeper Garden II.  Most units have been modified and are accessible.  There are accessible parking spaces, curb cuts, elevators with braille, ramps with handrails, grab bars (shower or tub), wide doorways, low cabinets, sinks, countertops, and raised toilets.
