Disability Employment Awareness and Outreach

The goal of Shenandoah Valley Disability Employment Awareness Committee is to enhance the public awareness of the potential of persons with disabilities. The committee recognizes those employers who have employed persons with disabilities and made the necessary accommodations for those employees to be a part of the mainstream workforce. An employee with a disability is also recognized each year as the Employee of the Year. A contest for increasing the awareness of school age youth about persons with disabilities and their potential is held each year in the area of art, literary and assistive technology.
