Communicable Disease Prevention and Control

The Chesterfield Health Department offers Epidemiology services by monitoring for the occurrence of reportable and emerging diseases or suspected outbreaks of illness, providing recommendations and guidance to prevent the spread of communicable diseases, and investigating outbreaks of disease and other public health emergencies.

Communicable Disease investigations include:

• Respiratory Infections
• Gastrointestinal illnesses
• Vaccine-Preventable Diseases
• Zoonotic Diseases
• Tuberculosis
• Infections Potentially  Associated with Healthcare Facilities
• Outbreaks
• Other Reportable and Emerging Diseases

HIV testing and counseling and sexually transmitted disease services are also available.  Clinics are available by appointment for medical services (diagnosis and treatment) and education and counseling.
