Who We Are

Cardinal Care Medicaid is the federally funded medical care program for Virginia individuals who are elderly, blind, disabled, dependent children, and pregnant women. The program offers medical coverage for doctor visits, emergency room visits, hospitalization, prescriptions, medical supplies and equipment, nursing home costs, and home health care. The level and scope of coverage vary.

Medical Assistance Program (Cardinal Care Medicaid) provides medical care for public assistance recipients and medically needy persons, i.e, persons of low income who can meet their maintenance needs but have insufficient income to provide the cost of medical care.

Determines eligibility for Cardinal Care Medicaid program which pays for medical expenses of AFDC recipients, the permanently disabled, the blind, pregnant women, children and the elderly.
