Who We Are
The Arlinton County Health Department conducts surveillance and investigation of reportable communicable diseases and infectious disease outbreaks in Arlington County as mandated by Virginia State law and provides community education and consultation.
The Tuberculosis (TB) Program accepts referrals from healthcare providers for Arlington residents who need TB evaluation and treatment. Services include testing, treatment for active TB disease and latent TB infection, and education. Hours are by appointment only at 2100 Washington Blvd., 2nd floor (Sequoia Plaza).
The HIV/STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) Services Program provides testing, treatment, education, and referral for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV. Services are by appointment only. The charge for services is according to a sliding scale based on income. No one will be turned away.
The AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) provides medicine used to treat HIV/AIDS to individuals who have limited or no health insurance coverage and low incomes. Public health nurses provide the medications and instructions on how to take them. Medications are given by appointment. Please visit the website for more information.
