Who We Are
Lee County Health Department participates in the Every Woman's Life (EWL) program, a public health program that helps uninsured, low income women gain access to free breast cancer screening services. Screening and early detection reduce death rates and improve treatment options.
Mammography is an important preventive health procedure for women. For early detection of breast cancer, the best option is regular screening mammograms for women over the age of 40. Screening is also available for women, ages 18-39 who are symptomatic or high-risk.
