Respite Services for Youth with Intellectual Disabilities

Therapeutic Recreation of Virginia Beach Parks & Rec offers respite care to parents and caregivers of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and learning disabilities, traumatic brain injuries or visual and hearing impairments.



Respite programs include after school programs, summer day camps, and more.  Camp Explore is an instructional day camp for individuals age 6-21 with disabilities and special needs.  Call for more information.



Therapeutic recreation uses treatment, education and recreation services to help people with disabilities develop and use their leisure in ways to enhance their health, independence and well being.
