Who We Are
HUD helps apartment owners offer reduced rents to low-income individuals. To apply, contact or visit the management office of the apartment building that interests you. Visit Find Affordable Apartment.
Visit Public Housing and Housing Choice Vouchers to find a local Public Housing Agency (PHA) so you can apply for either public housing or a housing choice voucher (formerly Section 8).
Most PHAs have long waiting lists so you may want to apply at more than one location. The local PHA agency can also give you a list of locations at which your voucher can be used.
