Who We Are
The Katherine K. Hanley Family Shelter provides shelter for about 24 families, usually mothers with children. Must be referred. Offers a variety of programs for children including tutoring, therapeutic services, and weekend activities; programs for adults include alcohol and drug education, literacy training, job coaching, parenting classes and counseling services.
Laundry facilities are available; meals prepared by residents, with food provided by the shelter. Provides intensive case management. Call for more information
Offers Housing First program - moving families into permanent housing as quickly as possible and continuing to work with them once they are in permanent housing. Operated by Shelter House, Inc.
Bus line: Metro. Convenient to subway stop. Clients referred to another agency for other languages. Call ahead.
