Who We Are
Rush Homes provides affordable, accessible rental housing to adults with disabilities in Central Virginia. We provide affordable and accessible housing opportunities for people who have both a disability and low income. Disabilities are wide ranging and include developmental disabilities, brain and spinal cord injuries, and mental illness among others. One, two and three bedroom apartments are offered.
Rush Homes owns and manages all of their properties including three Low Income Housing Tax Credit projects. Victoria Ridge (completed in 2011) is a 24 unit apartment complex, Armstrong Place (completed in 2015) has 28 units and Old Forest Village (to be completed in 2018) will also have 28 fully accessible apartments.
Rush Homes acts as a concerned advocate landlord and the tenant pays an affordable rent, often through the use of Housing Choice Vouchers. Rush Homes does not provide services; the tenant must hire a service provider (if needed).
General Information: Rush Homes is a non-profit, 501c3 organization serving planning district 11, which includes the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell and the cities of Bedford and Lynchburg.
