Who We Are
The Hatcher Center is a sheltered workshop which provides programming in the form of work activities and independent living skills; work activities will include employment services and work adjustment. Independent living skills curriculum will be designed to enhance social adjustment in the community and to increase vocational potential.
The Center provides transportation for the majority of our current employees. The rehabilitation department serves as the liaison between local and state funding sources to assess an employee’s strengths and vocational goals and then match them to our job training opportunities.
Current jobs are computer board assembly, sewing hospital gowns, plastics recycling, fan assembly, vehicle washing and vacuuming, document shredding and specialty wood products. An outlet retail store is operated where products produced by the employees of the Hatcher Center are sold. Call for information.
The Arc provides services to adults and children with intellectual disabilities and related developmental disabilities and to their families in the Dan River Region of southern Virginia.
