Who We Are
At Sentara RMH Medical Center, the Virginia Funkhouser Health Sciences Library is affiliated with the biomedical information network, providing access to local, state, regional and national resource libraries. We are a member of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine and offer full library information services.
Resources available include:

•Audiovisuals;
•Medical journals;
•Pamphlets;
•Magazines and newsletters ;
•Anatomical models;
•Internet access.
Book Loaning Policy
Circulating books and audiovisual materials are available to be checked out. Reference books, magazines and journals must be used in the library. You are welcome to take any of the pamphlets or fact sheets of interest with you. Circulating books may be checked out for a three week period. You may renew checked out materials by phone.
Special Collections
The Patient and Family section offers a children’s grief collection, donated by the local chapter of The Compassionate Friends support group. These books help children understand and cope with death or loss.
The Virginia Funkhouser Health Sciences Library is conveniently located on the first floor of the hospital between the main lobby and the Hahn Cancer Center. Upon your request we will gladly send information to those unable to visit the library.
